Lest We Forget

 

Guest Speaker for our Members Briefing on November 17 will be Jim Boland who will keep the memory of his father alive by sharing with us his Dad’s experiences during WWII and will show us some of his Dad’s memorabilia. His father was part of a Lancaster crew and also knew Ernie Simmons. In a recent email conversation with Pat Hanna, Mr. Boland had this to say, “If your membership would like to hear about a few of Dad's WW2 experiences and see some of his stuff, it would be an honour to display them. Again, obviously it would be third person tales! I wasn't there and it is a little intimidating to stand in front of some who were! As time goes on though, it will fall on our generations to keep the memories of these fellows alive.” We look forward to meeting Jim Boland on Saturday, November 17 and hearing of his father’s wartime experiences.
