04/19/08: Beautiful day in Tillsonburg --- sunny with light winds --- highs of 24 degrees C. Good crowd to enjoy the BBQ and see Harvard 20436 fly over at Noon (Pilots Greg Burnard and Bjarni Tryggvason) in formation with Harvard RZW (Pilot Bill Shepard with backseater Pat Hanna) and Harvard WPK (Pilot Tony Donnelly with backseater Kip Davis). Excellent passes --- smoke on. Lots of hand shaking, picture taking and story telling once they were on the ground.

Greg has promised a report of the trip from Oregon and when it is received it will be placed here for all to enjoy. As well, he and Bjarni took several pictures which will be shared here as well. Stayed tuned.....

04/18/08: Get your cameras ready ----- Harvard 20436 will arrive at Tillsonburg airport tomorrow, Saturday, at NOON. If you live in the area, come join in the celebration. BBQ lunch as well.04/18/09: latest message from Michele

Greg and Bjarni arrived into London around 5pm last night. Glad to be home, looking forward to seeing everyone in Tillsonburg on Saturday AM and sharing in the excitement of Harvard 20436.

Check back for their arrival time at Tillsonburg airport ...it will be added here as soon as it is known.

04/18/08: Message from Michele on Thursday at 3PM:

Got a call last night from Greg, they were in Minot, ND and were staying overnight there.

Greg just called again. They left Minot at 0600h and got to Duluth, MN, refueled on their way.He was calling from Sault Ste. Marie and was expecting that they would be to London around 6 or 7 pm tonight. They got out ahead of weather and where they were is all in rain showers.

An aside: in addition to getting these updates from Michele, Pat Hanna has been calling with updates from Bill Lamon as well. Pat says, like an anxious Dad, Bill awaits Greg's progress calls from wherever they've landed and relays these reports to Pat. Shows how much he cares for this Harvard!

04/17/08: Following message was received from Greg's wife Michele on Wednesday at 6PM:

Bjarni and Greg are now in Havre, Montana......it is such a small place that there is just the 2 of them, a guy and his dog!! They had to make a stop in Glacier Park for an hour or so to let weather clear and do a couple of checks. They have enough gas for 3 or 4 more hours and hopefully will be in Deluth, MN later.

04/16/08: Departed Spokane, WA at 8 am (west coast time) and arrived in Sand Point, Idaho around 9 am. When Greg called Michele they had been there for about a 1/2 hour, had fueled the plane and were waiting. The weather was good where they were and good where they wanted to be, but not so good in between. They needed to get up a little higher during that next stretch so must wait awhile. Will send more info when they get to their next destination.

04/15/08: As a salute to Bill and Mary Ann Lamon, Greg flew a beautiful low and over at the airstrip in Eugene Oregon, then headed off to Portland Oregon to pick up Bjarni. From there they flew to Spokane Washingon. At last word, they were waiting in Spokane to see if the weather (ceiling was 5500 feet) would allow them to make another hop before day's end. If all goes as scheduled, we have a BBQ celebration planned for Saturday at the hangar.

04/14/08: Pilots Bjarni Tryggvason and Greg Burnard hope to leave Eugene Tuesday morning.

04/10/08: If all goes well, we will be celebrating the arrival of our newest Harvard 20436. In the next few days Greg Burnard and Bjarni Tryggvason will be taking possession of her from Bill Lamon in Eugene Oregon and during the following week will be flying her home to Tillsonburg. Greg has said he will keep us posted of their progress, so please check back to this page for ongoing reports and a schedule of events.

We wish Bjarni and Greg safe flights and look forward to shaking their hands at the celebration for 20436. Have your camera ready for the photo ops.
