2009 CHAA Calendar: Pat Hanna 519-658-5464 (h), 519-212-6021 (cell), This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it
Our 2009 Calendar is now on sale.

If you live locally, the calendars are selling individually for $10.00 at these locations:
- CHAA Stores, Tillsonburg Hangar
- Spitfire Emporium, Kitchener ON
- Grandpa’s Attic, Ingersoll ON
- Aviation World, Toronto ON
- Waterloo Wellington Flight Centre, Breslau (Kitchener) ON

Calendars are also available by mail for $12.00 each (which includes $2.00 for postage) through Pat Hanna (contact info above).

Distribution is always costly and difficult, so we need “sales associates” to help sell. Here’s the plan: If you sell 20 calendars for CHAA, we will give you one free calendar. If you sell 100 calendars, I will give you 5 free calendars! The more you sell the more free calendars you can earn. You can “gift” the free calendars for Christmas etc., they won’t cost you anything and you will have brought in sales for CHAA.

Calendars for distribution are available from Pat Hanna only, so to order quantities to sell, please contact Pat directly. For locals wanting to sell quantities of calendars, they will be picked up at our Tillsonburg Base. For those living outside of Southern Ontario and wish to sell calendars for CHAA, they will be mailed directly to you. Also, if you have a pilot shop or flying club in your area, please ask them to support CHAA by selling calendars. Let Pat know the details and he will contact them to make arrangements.

Every calendar you sell helps to KEEP THOSE HARVARDS FLYING! Thank you in advance for supporting the 2009 Calendar Campaign!

HEROES’ DAY, SEPT 27: Bob Trowell This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it
CHAA participated in the September 27 Hero's Day at Victoria Park in London; a large, well-attended event honoring our military as well as police, fire, ambulance and other emergency services. Our booth was well-situated with the military exhibits and we had many people stop by, inquiring about CHAA. Walther Irie, Bil Thuma and Bob Trowell manned the booth and talked with folks about CHAA's activities and the importance of preserving our aviation heritage. We were very encouraged by the positive comments from our visitors and the numerous questions asked of us about the Harvards, membership, flydays and tours. Walt and Bil talked to people about the Lake Muskoka searches and the importance of finding these planes. Children delighted in receiving CHAA stickers and tattoos. The Harvards were not able to do a flyover because of low ceiling, but it was a worthwhile venue for CHAA and we generated a tremendous amount of goodwill by attending. It will definitely be a stop for CHAA again next year. We welcome other CHAA members to participate in shows like Heroes’ Day and help spread the word about our organization.

Saturday, September 20 --- CHAA’s Wings & Wheels Family Fun Day
On this last scheduled flyday of the season we hosted our Wings & Wheels Family Fun Day and it was a tremendous success for CHAA! The day included over 20 Harvard backseat rides; several new memberships; lots of food; our friends from CWH flew in their Cornel and Chipmunk (Great to see you, Guys!); static displays: Tiger Moth, one of our Harvards and Ron Rice’s replica Harvard; over a dozen planes flew in for the event; lively music; over 120 beautiful classic vehicles; Stores sales; display by CHAA’s Dive Recovery Team; several tours of our hangars; electrical panel demonstrations; brisk bidding on our silent auctions; well-supported fundraising events and more. Thank you to all who helped to make this day such a success; your efforts for CHAA are truly appreciated.
