Sent Sept 6: It has been a very quiet month.  Again the Members' Fly Day was washed out...so disappointing for those holding gift certificates and wanting backseat rides.  On Tuesday, September 5, CHAA had visitors at the hangar from Seattle, Washington, who were touring in the area and came to see an old friend....Bessy.  They were given a tour of our facility and left with our new brochures and memories of seeing Bessy.

Sent Sept 11: RE:  DOORS OPEN OXFORD
28 Harvard rides; 3 Tiger Moth rides; 14 new general members; 1 new Harvard Hawk
Sincere thanks to all the pilots, ground crew, tour guides and any one who helped in any way on September 9 and 10. I have been receiving e-mails all day (September 11) from thrilled first time riders. Their kind words and great smiles when they land all add to the pleasure that all of us at CHAA appreciate as we strive to meet our mandate

Congratulations to the membership for a job well done at Doors Open Oxford on 9 & 10 September. If you are playing the numbers game, this is for you: 730 in Attendance; 28 Harvard Backseat Rides; 3 Tiger Moth Front seat rides; $750 in Merchandise Sales.
All the work which has been done on the "Link" certainly paid off. The room was packed most of the weekend and some people just didn't want to leave the training room, returning again and again.
From all the people I spoke to, there were nothing but positive comments; absolutely no hint of complaint or dissatisfaction. Great job, and thank you all. I don't intend to name names because I am sure to miss someone. We even had one of the new members step up to the plate and make coffee. You never know what is going to happen.
One of the main things we did learn was that we are NOT known, even in our own county. If there is anyone out there who would like to become involved in marketing and public relations for the Canadian Harvard Aircraft Association" please let someone know.
Yale:  The latest "chat" with the AME revealed some paperwork that needed to be checked out before it was shipped to Transport Canada. It is hoped that it will be completed shortly and then the whole package can be sent.
