Next CHAA Meeting: Tuesday, May 17 at 7:30pm
Tillsonburg OPS Building
Guest Speaker: Meteorologist, Jay Campbell
CFPL-TV (London)
What is happening…?
Last Month’s “Guest Speaker”:
Membership enjoyed watching Pat Hanna’s DVD of Mission Aviation flights into the
Congo using a DC 3 and a variety of other aircraft. Excellent footage of
landings and takeoffs on some very scary terrain…showed the shortest and most
challenging runways most pilots had seen.
CHAA’s 20th Annual Banquet and Fundraiser:
-was held on Saturday April 30, 2005 at the Woodstock Legion with over 160
people in attendance. Donations of cash and auction items were received from 67
sources, the majority of those being CHAA members. $5369 was realized from the
silent and live auctions (Terry Scott was our auctioneer), $1100 came in from
cash donations (6 donors), and $1538 was made on the sale of the Auto Run Slide
Show on CD (put together by Eric Dumigan…about 8 left for sale @$10 each), 20th
Anniversary Ballcaps (ordered through Labush Skywear…about 70 left for sale @
$20 each) and the CHAA Ticket Auction (run by Maureen Merlo and Walt Irie).
Probably the most talked about event of the evening happened during the live
auction when Eva Hillston’s butter tarts sold for $300! Our guest speaker, Ted
Barris, was warmly received and enjoyed by everyone present. The Dive Recovery
Team’s display was very enlightening and as always, well done. Among the
presentations for the evening: 19 members received 20 Year Pins; 16 Life
Membership Plaques for 2004 were presented; 18 members received 10 Year Pins.
The Fundraiser Award went to Len Fallowfield; the President’s Award winners were
Connie and Terry Scott; Greg Burnard was awarded for his work with maintenance;
Tony Donnelly was presented with the least sought after award of the evening…The
Golden Pitot; Ila Fallowfield was thanked for her many years of work for CHAA.
The Committee responsible for this event (Pat Hanna, Ken Arnott, Marg
Hollister, Bill Shepard and Sandra Sparkes) was pleased with the overall
financial results for CHAA. The support received from the membership was truly
appreciated, and the committee is open to any suggestions for improvement as
they start the process of planning for 2006.

stroll recently on the sidewalk near his residence.
Bingo:
One of CHAA’s largest sources of financial support throughout the years has come
from monthly bingo games held in London. A dedicated group of CHAA members has
worked tirelessly at the bingos each month and extra support from other members
is being sought. For more info on upcoming bingo dates/times and how you can
