WED, OCT 24: "No Opportunity Wasted"
According to Bell Express Vu, it looks like the "fear of flying" episode of CBC's "No Opportunity Wasted" (filmed in part at CHAA's facilities) will appear of October 24. Check local listings for time in your area. Background: On Sun, AUG 12, CHAA participated in the taping of a segment of the new CBC television show "NOW --- No Opportunity Wasted" which premiered in October.
CHAA’s segment was part of a show dealing with those challengers who have a fear of flying; they were challenged with a couple of flight experiences before moving on to a backseat ride in a Harvard.
This was an exciting adventure for CHAA, and we will be watching CBC on October 24 to see our Harvards being piloted by Greg Burnard, Tony Donnelly, Greg Tyrell and Dan Cameron.

HAPPENINGS:
SAT, OCT 14 - Air Cadets from 530 SQN Waterloo - Report from Kip Davis
Pleased to report twelve Air Cadets from 530 SQN Waterloo were given introductory Harvard flights Sunday Oct 14th. The weather was ideal for this time of year. These DND approved flights are a first for CHAA. The Cadets spent part of their time with Charley Fox who discussed the BCATP program and combat flying in Europe.
Volunteers from CHAA were Greg Burnard, Roger Harris, Pilots with Brandon Zimmerman running the Link and Mike Merlo and Heather McMillan as ramp crew. Thanks to everyone!
Each Cadet received one half hour of Link time and were given demos on the cut-a-way 1340 Radial Engine and the Mk 2 electrical control panel.
Each Cadet received a Harvard Lapel pin as a memento. We are certain this activity (run by CHAA and the 530 Sponsoring Committee) will give these Cadets bragging rights at school for many weeks.
SAT, SEPT 15 – September Evening at the Hangar
Over 70 people enjoyed the evening...it was huge success! Rick Haines of Tillsonburg catered the hot buffet and the musical talents of "YouseTreeGize" kept our toes tapping throughout the evening. Sincere thank you to Eva Hillsdon and Marg Hollister for organizing this social opportunity as well as all those members who helped to prepare the hangar for the event and cleaned up the tables and chairs so we could put the Harvards back into the hangar and call it a night. Great Time!
-------------------------------------------------
Until next time, clear skies, safe flights and smooth landings!
