Wherever you are
Stop and give thanks for the freedoms you enjoy
Wear your poppy proudly
For the Fallen (excerpt) -- Laurence Binyon
They shall grow not old
as we who are left grow old;
Age shall not weary them
nor years condemn.
At the going down of the sun
and in the morning
In Flanders Fields -- John McCrae
In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.
We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.
Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.
Recently I came across a site for a video by Terry Kelly entitled “Two Minutes of Silence....A Pittance of Time”.
It has a strong message and on viewing it I wondered who Terry Kelly was, wanting to learn more about his life. Online I found his website and at this site: http://www.terry-kelly.com/press%20kit%20-%20bio.htm I learned (among other things) he is a blind Canadian athlete, East Coast Music Award Winner and Juno Nominee, motivational speaker from Eastern Canada.
